- The Eastchester School District has been forced to close the turf field on the high school campus after an inspection last week exposed safety concerns
- A traffic stop in Irvington led to the discovery of heroin and the arrest of a 33-year-old Irvington resident wanted in connection with several stolen vehicles in the area, according to Greenburgh Police.
- Police have arrested the man who escaped custody at the Harrison train station Wednesday night.
- Westchester is dealing with first government shutdown in 17 years after Congress failed to agree on a spending plan. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives passed a spending bill that denies money for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Westchester residents are now dealing with a federal government shutdown and its ramifications for the first time in 17 years.
