Foul Ball Smashes Sun Roof at Tuckahoe Ballgame

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. — A foul ball was particularly foul recently for one baseball fan.

A driver told police he had parked his 2006 Acura TL near the Parkway Oval ballfield during the May 5 Tuckahoe-Eastchester baseball game. The car was struck by a foul ball, according to the police report, shattering the sunroof.

There was no damage estimate.

Pot bust: A driver was pulled over at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday when police noticed the vehicle’s tinted windows were darker than the law allows, according to the police report. When the officer approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana, the report stated, and the driver admitted having the drug in the car. Summonses were issued for possession of marijuana and for the tinted windows.

ID theft: A case of identity theft was reported at 2:25 p.m. May 4 in the 30 block of Jefferson Place.

Theft of services: A cab driver told police at 6:35 a.m. May 4 that a passenger who got out of the taxi at 1 Scarsdale Road ran off without paying the full fare.
