- Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law on Wednesday that is intended to more fairly distribute the costs of operating fire hydrants.
- Firefighters from New Rochelle battled a fire at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Mid-Westchester on Wilmot Road in Scarsdale on Wednesday night.
- Three New York State Assembly members have sent a letter to the state Board of Regents calling on the board to slow down the implementation of the new Common Core Learning Standards in schools.
- The Westchester County Department of Public Safety and Tuckahoe Police Department have reached a deal for shared services, according to county representatives.
