Feiner wants the shelter to consider two other options:

  • Offer the land to Elmsford animal shelter volunteers if they agree to continue to manage the property as a no-kill shelter
  • Sell the land and use the proceeds for one purpose - to find another site in Westchester

Feiner plans to discuss these options with Pets Alive and to work with the shelter in the future to make sure that the shelter can continue to offer services in Westchester County.

Feiner has served as Greenburgh Town Supervisor since 1991, and was involved in efforts in the early 90s to get the land donated to the shelter.
