The stands were packed with parents, relatives, friends and boosters living and dying by every play and yelling words of encouragement when their team made a good play.

Tuckahoe defeated Haldane 40-0.

Joan Koval, whose son Matt plays for Haldane, was yelling, "Go Blue!" at the top of her lungs and hoping to have her lucky Mallomars when Haldane scored a touchdown.

"This team means everything," Kodal said. "We're going to win."

Kodal said the team loves the support it gets from the Haldane community.

Carol Balducci was also cheering on her son, Matt, and said she was very nervous.

"It's very exciting," Balducci said. "It's great to see the team make it this far. They have had a great season. The whole community is here. We just love them."

On the Tuckahoe side, the fans believed their school was going to represent Class D.

"This is just amazing," Emily Castracuocco, whose nephews plays for Tuckahoe, said. "We are awesome. My nephews have been asking me all week to come to the game."

Castracuocco said making it to Mahopac was even sweeter this year since no one expected Tuckahoe to go very far.

"This is the heart of the community," Castracuocco said.

Anthony Pinto and his family were cheering on Anthony's son, Christian.

"We are very excited for him," Pinto said. "The whole team has worked so hard and battled a lot of adversity. We love it."

Pinto said Tuckahoe football has taught his son about discipline, pride and what it means to be part of a team.

"They are great kids," Pinto said. "I love all of them. The team came together this season. Football is a historic part of this community."
