Lake Isle Splashes to Fourth Straight in Pool

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Lake Isle boasted two triple winners and Scarsdale had three swimmers win three races Thursday in a nip-and-tuck Westchester Swim Conference meet won by Lake Isle 241-229. Lake Isle has won all four of its dual meets with a meet remaining against Westchester Country Club next Wednesday. Nick Torres won freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly in the 10-and-under boys’ events and Yuma Kase finished first in the 14-and-under girls’ backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races to set the pace for Lake Isle. Scarsdale’s Joy Jiang won the eight-and-under girls’ freestyle, backstroke and butterfly and teammate Graham Novitch took first in the 12-and-under boys’ free, breast and butterfly events. Mitchell Barrow won the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly for 14-and-under boys and Katherine Suen was first in the 17-and-under freestyle, back and butterfly for Scarsdale. Chris Torres (eight-under boys), Johi Nonaka (eight-under boys), Theresa Pace (12-under girls) and Yuha Kase (12-under girls) each won two events for Lake Isle and Mia Dell’Orto (10-under girls), Gillian Simpson (10-under girls) and Brett Hogan (17-under boys) each won twice for Scarsdale.
