The jackpot is a whopping $449 million (or $313 million in cash) for Tuesday's drawing. The numbers will be picked at 11 p.m. tonight.
It’s the biggest prize in the game since Dec. 17, 2013, when two tickets (sold in California and Georgia) shared a $648 million jackpot.
The jackpot has been rolling since March 8 when a man in Washington state won at $157 million. The only other jackpot awarded this year was a $169 million prize won in New York on Jan. 8.
The record Mega Millions jackpot is $656 million – three tickets shared that jackpot on March 30, 2012. Just behind that is the $648 million jackpot split by two winners on Dec. 17, 2013. Those are the only two Mega Millions jackpots in history higher than Tuesday night’s estimated prize. The most won on a single ticket was $326 million on Nov. 4, 2014.
