More Hutch Closures This Week for Road Work

PELHAM, N.Y. – Road repaving was schedule to begin on the Hutchinson River Parkway on Sunday night and will continue to cause the closure of several lanes and ramps until Thursday, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The closures will affect both northbound and southbound traffic between Exit 18 at Mill Road and Exit 17 at North Avenue. The NYSDOT will alternate lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as workers pave the roads.

The work began last Monday and was originally scheduled through last Thursday, but the NYSDOT issued another press release that said paving would continue this week.

The press release advises caution for drivers driving through the work zone during those hours. Traffic control devices, signs and flaggers will assist drivers in the area.

Fines double for those who speed through a work zone. Two such violations could lead to a suspended license.
