SCARSDALE, N.Y. – With construction work continuing on the Crane Road Bridge project in Scarsdale, residents can expect several nighttime road and ramp closures, leading to delays and detours.

Westchester County Traffic Engineer Kevin Roseman estimates that construction is approximately 15 percent complete on the three-year, $39.4 million project that will continue through spring 2015.

Night work will begin Monday, continuing on weeknights for nearly two weeks as crews install 25-foot concrete forms for the north abutment walls adjacent to the eastern side of the railroad tracks. Workers will be on scene from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Work will continue during normal hours – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. – at the site.

For five days during this period – from Feb. 13 through 15 and on Feb. 18 and 19 – southbound lanes on East Parkway between Crane Road and Christie Place will be closed to place a crane in the roadway. During these five weeknights, the south and northbound exit 12 ramps from the Bronx River Parkway will be closed and motorists will be detoured to exit 10, Harney Road.

During March, there will be similar closures so crews can remove the concrete forms. The installation of a dozen prefabricated concrete beams over the Metro-North Railroad is projected for April and May. This, too, will lead to night closures.
