Officials Release Name of Man Who Died Tuesday

PELHAM, N.Y. – Officials released the name of the Connecticut man who died after driving off the road on the Hutchinson River Parkway on Tuesday. Christopher Goodwin, 45, of New Milford passed away at Sound Shore Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Goodwin was driving northbound at 2:19 p.m. when he went off the road, according to Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for Westchester County Department of Public Safety.

An off-duty fire lieutenant and a nurse stopped to help Goodwin and discovered that he was in cardiac arrest. The two took him out of the car and administered CPR. A county police officer and Empress Ambulance workers soon arrived and helped them perform CPR.

Goodwin was transported in an ambulance to Sound Shore Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
