Rapidly Falling Temps Will Cause Black Ice In Eastchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service is warning that rapidly falling temperatures will cause any residual moisture on roadways to freeze and create black ice Monday night into Tuesday.

Black ice will mainly occur on secondary roads, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a wind chill advisory from midnight on Monday until Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour will create wind chills as low as 15 below zero are likely for Westchester.

Temperatures will drop into the single digits Monday night and rise to only between 8 and 12 degrees on Tuesday.

Cold air will continue on Wednesday with sunny skies and a high between 17 and 20 degrees.

Thursday will be cloudy with a high of around 30, with a 40 percent chance of snow Thursday night into Friday. The chance of snow continues Friday with a high of 35.
