Smoking Ban Is On Tuckahoe Trustees' Agenda Monday

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. – A proposal to ban smoking at municipal buildings, parks and ball fields, and several presentations and hearings are on the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Tuckahoe Board of Trustees.

The trustees will revisit the proposed smoking ban after tabling it at last month’s meeting. The trustees expressed their support for the law at that meeting, and if passed it will take effect immediately.

Karen Ashton of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will give an update on the Yonkers Avenue Streambank Project, and Streetworks Development will give a presentation of public and off-site improvements in connection with a project on Columbus Avenue.

Raymond Palma and Melvin Banks will both be recognized for their retirement from the Department of Public Works after more than 30 years of service.

Frank Travers is to be reappointed to the Ethics Board for a three-year term expiring April 1, 2015. Donald Crosby is to be appointed to the Tuckahoe Housing Authority for a five-year term expiring in July 2017.

The meeting begins at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, 65 Main St. Click here for the complete agenda or visit the Tuckahoe Village website.
