PELHAM, N.Y. All southbound lanes on the Hutchinson River Parkway between Exit 15 and Exit 7 will be closed some nights from Tuesday, Aug. 23rd until Thursday, Sept. 15th for road repaving, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.
The lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. during the construction. The workers will pave the roads from Sunday to Thursday "each night within the event limits," according to the agency.
Exit 15 is where the Hutchinson River Parkway and Cross County Parkway split, while Exit 7 leads to Boston Post Roadthe Bronx-Pelham border on . Posted detours will direct drivers while the lanes are closed.
The agency advises caution for drivers travelling on the highway through the work zone during those hours. Traffic control devices, signs and flaggers will assist drivers in the area.
Fines double for those who speed through a work zone. Two such violations could lead to a suspended license.
