Storms Head Toward Eastchester

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The wonky weather that has plagued Westchester County all summer is expected to continue this week in Eastchester, the National Weather Service reports.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday as clouds rolled in and skies began to look more foreboding. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Wednesday, with rainfall totaling between a one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch.

The storm front heading our way is expected to produce heavy rains and localized flooding, prompting the Weather Service to issue a coastal flood statement.

According to the warning, “Water levels are expected to touch or slightly exceed minor coastal flooding thresholds across the most vulnerable coastal locations. Brief and minor roadway flooding and overland inundation is expected across the localized areas.”
