Tuckahoe Hosts Hastings In League Football Test

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. - The Tuckahoe Tigers will host the Hastings Yellow Jackets Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in what has become an annual Class C rivalry between the two Westchester village teams.

Tuckahoe (2-0) has not allowed a point this season, topping Pawling 26-0 on opening day and defeating Rye Country Day School 18-0 last Saturday.

Hastings (1-1) opened the season with a 10-7 win over Valhalla but was completely shut down last week in a 43-0 loss to Bronxville. The Yellow Jackets played well at Tuckahoe last year in a 37-22 loss that was close until the fourth quarter.

The Tigers have run the ball well, with Nick Reisman and Shyhiem Nixon giving the 1-2 punch out of the backfield. Reisman has gained 155 yards and scored four touchdowns, while Nixon leads the team with 178 rushing yards in their first two weeks. Quarterback Mike Castracucco runs the Tigers' offense and can pass the ball when needed.

Hastings is led by its defense with lineman Mike Inciofane, Jesse Greenwald and Chris Minozzi, and has struggled to score points on offense. The Yellow Jackets must stop the Tigers run game to have a chance at a win.

Hastings quarterback Rob Hevia played well in a close loss to Tuckahoe last fall in his sophomore season. Running backs Alex Brizer and David Nunez will need to hold on to the ball and gain some yardage to keep the Jackets in the game against a tough Tuckahoe defense.

Reisman, Nixon, Joey Bellantoni, John Paulino and Kayvon Reid anchor the Tigers defense that can stop the run and is quick enough to defend against a good passing game.
