Westchester Roadways Have Heavy Volume With Storm, Thanksgiving Approaching

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- It's the eve of the busiest travel day of the year and with a winter storm expected to begin around noon on Wednesday, many travelers are out and about on Westchester roadways late Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic is stop-and-go on I-87 north of I-287 and there is also heavy volume on I-287.

Volume is also high on I-84 near the I-684 split as well as on I-95 on the New York/Connecticut border.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for 7 a.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day with between 4 and 8 inches of snow expected for Westchester and 6-10 inches for Putnam County.
