TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Christopher J. Southard (Chris), of Tuckahoe, died suddently Oct. 23. He was 28.
Southard was predeceased by his mother, Maureen Southard, and grandparents, William and Elizabeth Southard.
Southard was born and raised in Tuckahoe and graduated from Tuckahoe High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from Hunter College and a master's degree from Iona College.
Southard worked many years in retail while attending school before becoming a high school English teacher. He had a great passion for video games, comics, music and movies.
He was loved by all who knew him -- family, friends and colleagues. He was a kind soul who brought light and happiness to the many people he touched.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the Westchester Funeral Home Inc., 190 Main St., Tuckahoe.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winter Hill Road, Tuckahoe.
