EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - Daniel S. Fruchter, an Eastchester resident and survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor died March 7. He was 94.
Fruchter was born Aug. 10, 1918 in New York City to Dora and Philip Fruchter.
A veteran of WWII, he survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.
Fruchter graduated from New York University and Syracuse University, and had a 45 year career in hospital administration. He was CEO of Union Hospital of the Bronx for 24 years until retirement in 1989. I
In retirement, Fruchter was a dedicated volunteer at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York.
Fruchter is survived by his wife Marilyn (Anker) of 54 years, sons Philip and Gary, daughter-in-law Mareanne, loving and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Sinai Free Synagogue, 550 N. Columbus Ave., Mt. Vernon. Burial follows at Sharon Gardens Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
