Mildred Spitz, 83, Former Eastchester Resident, Homemaker

NEW YORK CITY - Mildred (Marcia) Spitz, of New York City, and formerly a resident of Eastchester and New Rochelle, died April 29. She was 83.

Spitz was born March 5, 1930, in the Bronx, to Anna and Leon Nozick. She married Howard Spitz Feb. 17, 1951, in the Bronx. She was a homemaker for much of her life but also worked for over a decade in the Westchester County Family Court System in White Plains.

Spitz is survived by children, Leslie Silver (Lawrence Geneen) of New York City, Debra Kirkley (Kara Carthel) of Seattle, Washington, and Cliff Spitz (Diane) of Reston, Va.; sister, Dorothy Pardes; brother, Bernard Nozick; four grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

A chapel service will be held Thursday, May 02 at 10 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Chapel 21 Broad St. W  in Mt Vernon. Interment will be held afterwards at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Jackson Ave/ Saw Mill River Road in Hastings-on-Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association in New York City .
