Salvatore Nargi, 63, Retired Police Detective

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Salvatore D. Nargi of Eastchester died Saturday, June 23. He was 63.

Nargi was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Mount Kisco to Rose and Dominick Nargi. He retired as a detective with the Mount Vernon Police Department after 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Nargi; two sons, Salvatore (Rachael) Nargi and John (Kelly) Nargi; two daughters, Jennifer (Vincent) Popora and Lisa Nargi; a brother, Louis (Carol) Nargi; a sister, Christina Stradtman; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. Burial will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery in the Bronx.
