William Edward Liptack, 80, Of Eastchester

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - William Edward Liptack, a resident of Eastchester, died June 3. He was 80.

Liptack was born June 22, 1933, to Emil and Sophie (Plitnik) Liptack. He attended Fordham University. Following his graduation from Fordham, he attended Naval Officer's Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and was commissioned as an ensign. He served in the Navy for three years, including one year in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After retiring from the Navy, he began his 33 year advertising career in New York City. He began as an associate media director at Young & Rubicam. He was instrumental in starting an in-house advertising department for Bristol Myers-Squibb. He retired in 1993. He worked at the Reformed Church Nursery School in Bronxville.

Liptack is survived by his children, Kathryn Raymond (Paul), Maura McMahon (Chris), Patricia Reilly (Dave), William Liptack, and Suzanne Reilly (Tim); 11 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maureen Liptack; and nephews and niece. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Kay; and brother, Robert Liptack.

Calling hours are Friday, June 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe.
