Abati is survived by his children, Elaine (Fred) Runne and Carol (Philip) Benincasa; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie Abati.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc., Eastchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
