Bronxville Letter: Obama's Flawed Foreign Policy

To the editor:

The only action Obama is willing to take against Putin's invasion of Ukraine is to impose sanctions against his billionaire supporters, the oligarchs.  Obama's constantly changing analyses of the Middle East situations are confusing many people. it must be understood just who his intended audience is. It is definitely not the American people. When he took a four minute break from his golf game on the Vineyard to announce that ISIS is a cancer that must be eradicated, everyone believed that he had finally 'wised up'. The problem was that he was addressing his billionaire donors (handlers). He had no choice but to speak harshly about ISIS because of the growing demand that he stop these vicious killers. As soon as he made the speech his own oligarchs warned; "If you take any direct military action your donations will cease and the Democrats will definitely (as compared to probably) lose control of the Senate." Since his only legacy will be his awesome ability to raise vast amounts of money for the Democratic Party he instantly realized that he needed to reverse course. He directed his top military commanders to state that ISIS is not a threat to the homeland. They said there is no immediate need for the U.S. to take action. Then he said he had no strategy for combatting ISIS in Syria. The ISIS commander, in perfect English, said "Thank you, Mr. President." On the Friday afternoon before the Labor Day weekend he completely fouled up traffic in Westchester County by arriving with his contingent to shmooze with $32,400 per plate fundraisers. He then returned to the airport to be whisked away on Air Force One to another fund raiser in Rhode Island. He repeatedly does the only thing that he is good at. Conservative oligarchs should be capable of creating sanctions against Obama's oligarchs that would be effective. Bob Lawler
