Letter: Commissioners Support Brian Keating for Eastchester Fire Board

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eastchester Daily Voice Accepts signed letters to the editor. Please send letters to eastchester@dailyvoice.com

To the editor:

We are writing to you today to ask for your vote for Brian Keating for Fire Commissioner in the Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners election on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Thanks to increased voter turnout and taxpayer focus on the annual fire district elections, our fire district is now managed by board of experienced business professionals.

These professionals bring a wide spectrum of business knowledge and managerial experience to the tax payers of the Town of Eastchester.

The board’s continued success hinges greatly on the knowledge and experience of its members. An ideal candidate for this board, like Brian, should have no responsibilities or alliance within the Fire District and be equipped to manage a $17,000,000 annual budget. It is critical that the momentum of the current board continue into 2015 with an overall reduction in spending.

With the election of Brian to this five year position, we believe the Board of Fire Commissioners can continue to build on the progress achieved over the last several years. With the election of Brian to the board it will also be the first time in over 75 years that the Fire District Board will be made up entirely of experienced professional members that have had no previous duties or alliance to the Fire District.

Brian has held a managerial position in the legal profession for over 25 years and is currently employed at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York City. We believe the combination of his legal experience, education and community involvement makes him a very strong candidate for the Board of Fire Commissioners. Mr. Keating has lived in Eastchester for over 18 years with his wife, Jennifer and their two children.

Please encourage your neighbors to elect Brian Keating to the Eastchester Board of Fire Commissioners this Tuesday, Dec. 9 between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The candidate elected will hold the position of commissioner for the next five years and help administer and manage an operating budget that is larger than the individual village budgets of Bronxville or Tuckahoe.

The outcome of this election is critical in continuing the professional management of the Eastchester Fire District.

Thank you for considering Brian Keating for this important position.

Sincerely, Jerry Napolitano Dennis J. Winter
