Police Chief Christopher Satriale warned that all residents should be on alert and ensure that all homes and vehicles are securely locked as the department continues its search for the suspect.

Satriale noted that the suspect is a black man who was spotted by the homeowner in the early hours of Saturday.

“The Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning,” he said. “The home alarm system door alarm sounded when a door was opened and the homeowner observed a black male in the home. The suspect fled the home and was not apprehended.”

As the investigation continues, Satriale said that homeowners should be on high alert, with alarm systems activated and doors and windows locked at all times, noting that “full activation will result in quicker notification to the police department in the event of unlawful entry.”

The police are asking Bronxville residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity and people. Any car alarm or motion light activations should be reported to police officials at 914-337-0500.
