EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – With the holidays nearly upon us, and families getting ready for the busy travel season, Eastchester police are warning homeowners to be on alert following a burglary in town last week.

The Eastchester Police Department issued a series of warnings for homeowners following a burglary on Interlaken Drive over the weekend. According to reports, the homeowners were out shopping for a few hours on Saturday when they were victimized by burglars entering through a second story window.

Police are advising residents to maintain the impression that someone is at the home by keeping lights on and ensuring that mail doesn’t build up; to lock doors, windows and garages and to be on high alert for suspicious activity in the neighborhood.
