Eastchester Police Investigating Fraudulent Bank Withdrawals

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - The Eastchester Police Department is reaching out to the community in an effort to apprehend a woman who robbed a Key Bank customer of nearly $10,000.

Eastchester detectives are teaming with the Yonkers Police Department to investigate a pair of recent incidents where a woman entered banks in each of those municipalities, fraudulently withdrawing thousands of dollars from one family’s account.

According to Police Chief Timothy Bonci, the woman entered a Key Bank in Eastchester, where she withdrew $4,500 from the account by impersonating the customer. She immediately proceeded to “use the same ruse” to withdraw an additional $4,600 from the same account at a Yonkers location.

The police released surveillance videos of the suspect on Tuesday. It show a woman dressed in all black with a hat and sizable sunglasses. Anyone who can identify the suspect has been asked to contact investigating detectives at (914) 961-3464.
