Hartsdale Couple Injured After Being Struck By Scarsdale Driver

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh EMS transported an elderly Hartsdale couple to Westchester County Medical Center after they were struck by trying to cross the street by a Scarsdale driver on Saturday, Dec. 21, Greenburgh Police said.

The couple was attempting to cross North Central Avenue when a 52 year old Scarsdale woman driving a Volkswagen struck them in the crosswalk, according to police officials.

The man, 84 was treated for his injuries and released while the woman, 88, was admitted with more serious injuries, Greenburgh Police said. 

The 52-year-old Scarsdale driver was charged with failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian in the cross walk. Police are still investigating the incident, officials said.
