The Scarsdale Police Benevolent Association is once again conducting its annual “Toys for Tots Drive,” where they will collect new and unwrapped presents from members of the community that will be donated to the Marine Toys for Tots Program.

Beginning this week, those interested in donating to the Marine Toys for Tots Program can drop off the toys in the lobby of Scarsdale Police Department Headquarters. On Tuesday, Dec. 20, the donations will be collected and then distributed to less fortunate children in every state.

Each year, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation assists the U.S. Marine Corps in providing a “tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children around Christmas,” with a goal to “deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible, productive, patriotic, citizens.”

“As you can see by the photo of last year’s collection efforts, the Scarsdale community has been very generous in donating to Toys for Tots,” Scarsdale Police Capt. Thomas Altizio noted. Those who require assistance or have questions can contact the department by phone at (914) 722-1200 or email at police@scarsdale.com.
