Man Attempts To Cash Fake $4K Check, Bronxville Police Say

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Mount Vernon man is facing felony charges in Bronxville after attempting to cash a fraudulent check for nearly $4,000.

Police in Bronxville were alerted by a Pondfield Road Citibank manager on Sept. 11 that 21-year-old Isaiah Cousins was allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check for $3,965.65

According to police, officers arrived at the bank branch while Cousins was still int he bank, and a subsequent investigation determined that the suspect was also in possession of a fraudulent Citibank Master Card.

Police arrested Cousins, who was arraigned in Bronxville Village Court and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. Cousins was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail and is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
