Police Search For Woman They Say Tried To Lure Child Into Car In Greenburgh

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A 50-year-old woman tried to lure a young girl into her car on Saturday afternoon in the White Plains section of the Town of Greenburgh, police said on Monday.

Greenburgh police reported that a female motorist attempted to lure a 9-year-old girl into her car on Saturday in a White Plains section of the town.

Police said the motorist, described as being black with her hair up in a bun, made the attempt about 3 p.m. in the Valimar Community.

The woman told a 9-year-old girl she had puppies in the back seat and that all she has to do is get into the car, according to police. The girl refused the request, police said, and the motorist fled the area in her car.

The vehicle is described as a beige or tan four-door sedan with an unknown registration. The vehicle is further described as being a few years old with dents in the front and rear passenger’s side of the vehicle with tinted windows.
