Wappinger resident Bernard Kilkenney was arrested and charged on for his alleged role in the heists that took place between Oct. 30 and Dec. 6.
Kilkenney appeared in federal court in White Plains on Thursday.
According to Scarsdale Det. Lt. Thomas Altizio, “in several cases, including the Scarsdale robbery, the suspect used a BMX style bicycle to flee the scene.” When he was arrested, Kilkenney was found with a similar bicycle in the trunk of the vehicle he was operated.
Shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, Kilkenney allegedly entered the Shell gas station on Post Road displaying a handgun and demanding money. Once he had the cash, he subsequently fled on the BMX bicycle southbound on Post Road.
The Scarsdale robbery was one of several that was committed in the area on the day in question.
