Selwyn Days' 5th Trial In Eastchester Killings May Start In September

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A fifth trial for Selwyn Days, the Mount Vernon man who was charged in a pair of murders in Eastchester nearly two decades ago, and whose conviction was overturned in 2015, is expected to start in September, a Westchester County judge said in court Tuesday, lohud.com reported.

Days who maintains his innocence, was in court with six attorneys who asked for a bail reduction for him, said lohud.com.

He's been held on $1 million bail in Westchester County jail since his conviction was overturned, lohud.com reported.

Days, 46, was charged in the death of Eastchester millionaire Archie Harris and his aide, Betty Ramcharan. at his mansion in 1996, a previous Daily Voice article reported. 

His first two trials led to hung juries, while the third ended with a conviction that was ultimately thrown out, Daily Voice reported. .

On Sept. 2, 2015, the guilty verdict from his fourth trial was thrown out by a state appeals court, which will lead him to his fifth trial. The conviction was dropped after Days appealed that he wasn’t allowed to introduce certain expert testimony in his 2011 trial, Daily Voice reported. . 

Days is due back in court April 26, said lohud.com.
