The man, said to be in his 40s, was walking home to Somers from the Goldens Bridge train station because he had locked his keys in his car.
The automobile was driving north on Route 22 and struck the man near the intersection with Whip Mill Lane, just south of The Blazer Pub.
When the Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department arrived, the man appeared to have no pulse, police said. However, emergency personnel were able to revive his pulse and rush him to Danbury Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
The New York State Police responded to the scene, along with the North Salem Police and the Croton Falls Fire Department.
