Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, police were dispatched to 16 Tanglewylde Ave., following multiple reports of an erratic driver who had driven over the sidewalk and into bushes.

Upon arrival, the driver, 18-year-old Bronx resident Brian Feeney immediately refused to take an alcohol breath sensor and failed multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. During the subsequent investigation into the incident, police said Feeney’s passenger, 19-year-old Gary McGovern was found to be in possession of a large ziplock bag containing marijuana and 58 smaller empty baggies.

Feeney was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal to take a pre-screen test, consumption of alcoholic beverages and he was cited for unlicensed driving, inadequate tires and inadequate headlights. McGovern was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and their vehicle was impounded.

Both Feeney and McGovern were released on their own recognizance. They are both due back in Bronxville Justice Court next month.
