EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Although two Democrats threatened to offset the balance of the Republican-heavy Tuckahoe Board of Trustees, it maintained its same 4-1 balance after after the candidates split the vote in the Tuesday, March 18, election.

Trustee Stephen Quigley remains the only Democrat on the board, after receiving 358 votes, seven more than new Trustee Steven Alfasi, a lawyer and member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Melba Caliano (324 votes) and Chris DiGiorgio (287), fell just short in Tuesday’s village election.

Quigley and Alfasi will each serve two-year terms, joining Mayor Steve Ecklond, Deputy Mayor Tom Giordano and Trustee Greg Luisi on the board.

Quigley and Alfasi could not be reached for comment by the Daily Voice.

In Bronxville, Republican Trustees Anne Poorman, who has been on the board for nine years, and Guy Longobardo, who is completing his first term, ran unopposed and will also serve two-year terms.
