Voters' Forum Features Candidates For State Senate, Assembly

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- If you've got a question for state lawmakers or want to meet their challengers in the Nov. 8 election, head to Church Street School in White Plains on Thursday evening.

The League of Woman Voters of White Plains is sponsoring a forum featuring contested races for state Senate and Assembly.

The question-and-answer session will be in the Church Street School auditorium at 295 Church St in White Plains.

The first part, from 7 to 8 p.m., features candidates from the 88th Assembly District and the 37th Senate District. Invited in those contested races are Sen. George Latimer, D-Rye, and his challenger Julie Killian, R-Rye;  as well as Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, a Democrat from Scarsdale, and her challenger, Anthony DeCintio of Tuckahoe.

In the second part, from approximately 8 to 9 p.m., two unopposed candidates are invited for a conversation with the audience and to answer questions: Assemblyman David Buchwald and Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

Questions for the first part can be submitted in writing by audience members. Those who cannot attend Thursday's forum are invited to email questions to stephen435@optonline.net. (Please include your name and address.)

Latimer and Killian will face each other again at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Rye Middle School Multi-Purpose Room at 3 Parsons St. in Rye. That forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Rye, Rye Brook and Port Chester.
