Wilton Girls Cap Season With Dominant Win

The top-ranked girls lacrosse team in Connecticut is ready for a run at a championship or two. Wilton tuned up for the playoffs with a 12-5 drubbing of Fairfield Ludlowe on Tuesday evening.

Wilton scored the final seven goals of the game after only leading by one at halftime. Ludlowe kept the game close for the first 30 minutes of the game, but Wilton exploded in the final few minutes.

Tegan Helms led Wilton with five goals, capping a stellar season for the sophomore. Casey Pearsall added three goals, while Lindsey Flanagan and Christie Huidekoper contributed two goals and two assits each.

The Warriors (14-1, 11-1 FCIAC) will likely be the top-seeded team in the Fairfield County Interscholastic tournament, which begins Friday. Check back later this week for final FCIAC girls lacrosse playoff seedings.
