An officer on routine patrol discovered a black GMC rolled over on its side at about 1:35 a.m. Friday on Mill Plain Road near Old Mill Plain Road, the police report said. The Fire Department responded and removed the driver, who had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, from the vehicle, police said.

Amaldo Ochoa, 23, of Old Mill Plain Road, had lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to turn onto his street, police said.

He was charged with driving under the influence, driving unreasonably fast for conditions and operating without a license. He was released on $5,000 bond for a court date of March 20.

Also on the police blotter, a Danbury man was arrested after officers observed him buying drugs from his car on Patriot Drive, police said.

Members of the Community Condition Unit doing surveillance at about 5:20 p.m. Thursday saw William Watson, 34, approach a known drug dealer and make a drug transaction, the police report said.

Watson was apprehended and found to be in possession of nine rocks of crack cocaine, police said. He was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell and driving without a license.

He was held on $25,000 bond for a Friday court date.
