The Yorktown Police Department announced Wednesday the arrest of 17-year-old Kristian Singh, who was charged following a police investigation that determined he snuck into the Great American Cookies Kiosk and stole the baked good last week.

According to police, shortly before 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, Singh entered the kiosk at the mall, stealing the cake, launching the investigation. Police said that evidence was recovered at the scene that linked Singh to the alleged crime, determining that while the Jefferson Valley Mall was closed, he entered illegally and stole the cake while the location was closed and secure.

On Monday, March 13, Singh was arrested at his home and charged with third-degree burglary. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance to a parent. Singh is due back in court on Tuesday, March 28.
