Bronxville Residents To Vote On $4.5M School Bond

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Bronxville residents will vote Tuesday, Oct. 2 on a $4.5 million bond that would go toward the renovation of a school auditorium and science labs.

The proposal been in the works for more than two years. If the measure passes, it would allow the district to issue $4.5 million in bonds to partially fund the renovations. The proposal is a public-private partnership and $3 million has been raised by the community in fundraisers, while $2.5 million will come from district reserve funds.

“I hope that voters make up their minds in an informed fashion, and that everybody goes out and votes,” said Superintendent of Schools David Quattrone.

“This bond was approved by the board last June, and it was the result of over a year of planning,” said Quattrone. “If successful, it will allow us to go forward and renovate an auditorium that is in bad disrepair, and update our science labs as well. It will basically allow us to improve our facility and make for a better environment for students to learn in.”

Bronxville residents can vote from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 2 in the elementary school’s multi-purpose room.
