EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Children’s author and certified teacher, Barbara S. Garriel, is presenting her "Write Out Loud!" author program to K–5th grade students and staff of William E. Cottle School in Eastchester, on Wednesday, March 2.
Garriel is the author of "Wolves and their Ways, The Underwater Life of Rivers, "Underwater Cities–the Coral Reefs, and Endangered Sea Life," non-fiction science books for children. Each contains nonfiction text features such as photos, diagrams, tables and maps.
"I Know a Shy Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello" appeals to children of all ages. It has rollicking, humorous text, wacky, colorful illustrations, and was nominated for the EB White Read Aloud Award. She wrote an original song to accompany "I Know a Shy Fellow…," which is available on CD.
The CD also features the author reading the story and “Music Detective," an instructional guessing game about instruments.
Return the form, along with a check, in an envelope to school by Feb. 12. Please make the check payable to Barbara Garriel.
The William E Cottle School is at 2 Siwanoy Blvd., Eastchester.
