On Tuesday, by a 297-101 vote, Tuckahoe voters approved the proposed $31.9 million spending plan, which represents a .38 percent tax levy increase, well under the mandated state cap.

In the Board of Education election, Robert Sypherand Dajan Prorokovic earned seats on the board with 285 and 253 votes, respectively.

The approved budget will now allow the district to maintain class sizes at William E. Cottle Elementary, and will increase the instructional staff at both the middle and high school. Non-instructional staff will be increased to improve security and there will be enhanced student support programs, professional development initiatives and co-curricular programs for students.
