Katsoris talked about his new book, Loukoumi and the Schoolyard Bully, as part of the character education and anti-bullying awareness program at the Anne Hutchinson School and as a kickoff event to the national Loukoumi Bullying Awareness School Program.

In addition to talking about bullying, Nick shared seven tips to writing a book for the 4th and 5th grades who are writing their own books as part of the ELA curriculum. Students also performed an original song written by teacher Suzanne Greene, "I'd Rather Be a Buddy than a Bully."

After the assembly, he visited every class to hand out bookmarks and to sign the many books students and teachers had ordered. Proceeds from the book sales will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Katsoris, a practicing attorney, is the author of the acclaimed Loukoumi children’s book series. The main character, Loukoumi, is a little lamb who wants to make the world a better place. He sponsors the annual Growing Up with Loukoumi Dream Day Contest, which gives kids an opportunity to spend the day in their dream careers.

He also sponsors Make a Difference with Loukoumi Day, which was highlighted by USA Today as one of five projects that truly made a difference.
