With Curio - who was re-elected to the Board in May last year - surprisingly retiring, the Board is left to find a temporary replacement who will serve from the date of their appointment until the next annual election on May 17.

According to the Board, “applicants should show familiarity with the Board’s policies regarding general duties and responsibilities of a School Board and a School board member, including fiduciary responsibilities, conflicts of interest and ethics.”

In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must:

  • Be a United States Citizen that can read and write.
  • Be at least 18-years-old
  • Be a resident of the district for a minimum of one year immediately preceding the appointment
  • Be a registered voter in the district.

Those interested in applying can send letters of intent and a resume to the Board at BOE@Eastchester.k12.ny.us or deliver them to the Board of Education at 580 White Plains Road. Employees of the school district are not eligible for candidacy.
