Eastchester Fourth-Graders Prepare Lunches, Donate To New Rochelle Charity

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. --Fourth-graders in Anne Hutchinson School in Eastchester met recently in the cafeteria with several parent volunteers to create brown-bagged lunches for Hope.

Since its early days, HOPE Community Services, based in New Rochelle, has grown to become the largest emergency food pantry and soup kitchen in the region. Hope also provides clothing, language skills, emotional support, immigration services and other daily necessities.

Hope Community services 150 clients and each year for almost 20 years, the fourth-grade has collected funds to purchase the makings of brown-bagged lunches for the people in need in the local area. 

In addition, any extra funds and food are donated to Hope. The fourth- grade raised $642.00. After purchasing all the materials, the fourth-grade was still able to donate $380.00.
