EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- In honor of National Foreign Language Month, students in Kathy Shay’s Spanish classes at Eastchester Middle School were invited to create and teach a lesson about their family’s culture.
This year, Shay had seven volunteers. Throughout the month of March, students were exposed to the language and culture of Japan, Kosovo, Greece, Jamaica and Brazil.
Some of Shay’s students were also exposed to Hebrew, German and American Sign Language.
