EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Written requests for transportation to private or parochial schools in Eastchester for the 2015-16 school year are due April 1.
Application forms can be obtained from the Eastchester Union Free School District Board of Education, Transportation Office at 580 White Plains Road, Eastchester or downloaded from the district website here .
A new written application must be made annually for each new school year for each student attending private or parochial school. Please note that applications submitted after April 1 will not be approved, in accordance with state law.
If you are undecided as to which school your child will be attending, multiple applications may be sent prior to the April 1 deadline. A final decision from the applications submitted can be made after April 1, but no later than July 1. Families who move into the district after April 1 must submit an application within 30 days of establishing residence.
In accordance with New York State Education Law, the Eastchester Union Free School District will furnish transportation for students to attend the private or parochial school of choice, up to the statutory limit of 15 miles. Students in grades K-5 are eligible for transportation if they currently reside more than a one-half mile from the school of choice, and students in grades 6-12 are eligible if they reside more than 1 mile from the school of choice.
Residents requesting transportation to private or parochial schools must be registered with the Eastchester School District.
