EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester Public Schools are offering a rare and interactive presentation by The Science Barge, which will compare families in different geographic locations and analyze their food intake.
Known as the carbon footprint, attendees will learn how food has been produced and transported, and about its impact on the environment. You will take home a “Carbon Footprint” chart to help you make more environmentally responsible food choices.
This is the first in a series of “Environmental Literacy” programs at the library. Completion of all programs for your age group will earn a “Green Citizen” badge of honor.
The presentation is on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for children in grades three through six in the Children's room of the Eastchester Library. Online registration began on May 9.
