The grant allows for funding for the Music Therapy program provided by the Music Conservatory of Westchester's Music Therapy Institute. The Eastchester SEPTA has received the grant from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) for four consecutive years.

All four special education classes in Anne Hutchinson School currently participate in the program and starting in January 2014, classes at Waverly School and the Middle School intensive needs class will also offer the program, thanks to additional funds provided from SEPTA.

The district will once again receive the Barbara and John Lofrumento Foundation award at The ASCAP Awards on Dec. 11 at Lincoln Center. The Lofrumentos are long time Eastchester residents, with two sons who graduated from Eastchester High School.
